Dog Care

Excercise!

These dogs are all sled dogs, so they will require a lot of excercise. Try to set aside at least one hour daily for walking.

Food

These dogs are all used to a very high-meat diet. Find a brand of hard food that's high in protein and, if available, zinc as well.

Brush, not bathe

These dogs have naturally self-cleaning coats, with oils from their skin flushing out dirt and debris. Because of this, all you have to do is brush them once or twice a week. Only bathe them if they're covered in mud.

Chew toys

These dogs love to chew on things. Make sure to get plenty of chew toys for them, or you just might find them chewing on furniture instead!

Take care of their feet

These dogs are working dogs, so pay close attention to the state of their feet. Be sure to regularly trim nails and cut any errant hairs on their feet.

Careful about other animals

These dogs have predatory instincts that could kick up around other small animals, such as cats.

Don't be afraid to lay down the law

These dogs are very pack oriented, so if you catch them doing something bad, firm but gentle discipline is required. Should discipline not be administered, these dogs will learn they can get away with things and become more difficult to re-train.
